Lot 645: A Collection of Seven British Ceramic Figurines and Decorative Tableware including Royal Doulton and Royal Worcester
This collection of seven decorative items comprises various ceramic and enamel pieces. Included is a Royal Doulton glazed porcelain figurine titled Grandmother’s Dress, model HN 3081, depicting a woman in a voluminous magenta dress. The base is marked with the Royal Doulton lion and crown backstamp, the title, and the model number. Also present is a Hornsea Pottery Fauna range spill vase shaped as a tree stump with a rabbit, bearing the factory mark to the base. The lot includes a Staffordshire-style figurine of a woman with a lamb on a grassy base, which is unmarked. There is a pair of ceramic wall pockets modelled as Humpty Dumpty seated on a brick wall. A Royal Worcester porcelain egg coddler is included, decorated with a bird motif and fitted with a chrome-plated metal lid and ring handle, bearing the Royal Worcester mark to the base. Completing the collection is a small cylindrical enamel trinket box with floral decoration on a yellow ground, in the style of Halcyon Days.
Condition report:
The Royal Doulton figurine and Hornsea vase appear to be in good condition with no visible chips or repairs. The Staffordshire-style figurine shows visible glaze crazing and minor wear to the base rim. The Humpty Dumpty wall pockets are generally good, with minor stray paint marks from manufacture on one piece. The Royal Worcester egg coddler is intact with minor tarnishing to the metal lid. The enamel box shows minor surface wear to the base.
