Lot 665: Two items comprising a Corgi Comics Noddys Car and a David Trewin spalted beech bowl
This lot comprises two distinct items: a character vehicle and a turned wood bowl. The first item is a Corgi Comics model of Noddys Car, identified as model number 804, featuring the characters Noddy and Big Ears seated in a yellow car with red wheel arches. The vehicle is constructed with a die-cast metal body, plastic figurines, and a plastic windshield, featuring a free-wheeling mechanism. The red-painted base is embossed with the Corgi dog logo, CORGI, Comics in stylized script, NODDYS CAR, and MADE IN GT. BRITAIN. The second item is a decorative bowl crafted from spalted beech, featuring natural black fungal line figuring through the grain. The base is incised with the material SPALTED BEECH, the maker D. TREWIN, and the date 1998. A rectangular gold-coloured label is also present on the base for David Trewin Woodturner, Higher Manaton, Callington, Cornwall.
Condition report:
The Corgi toy is in playworn condition with significant paint loss and chipping to the yellow body and red arches. The figurines show surface wear and grime consistent with age. The plastic windshield is intact. No box is present. The spalted beech bowl is in excellent condition with no visible cracks or damage. A temporary lot sticker is adhered to the interior.
