Lot 749: A Victorian Style Stained Hardwood Four-Door Cupboard
A large storage cupboard or wardrobe of two-part construction, designed in the Victorian style. The piece is crafted from stained hardwood with a mahogany-coloured finish. The exterior features four doors arranged in two tiers, each door containing a single recessed rectangular panel. The unit is fitted with turned wooden knobs and small circular metal escutcheons on the left-hand doors. The interior includes at least one drawer featuring a dark-stained front and a lighter-toned secondary wood interior, possibly pine or plywood laminate, suggesting 20th-century manufacture. The carcase is separated by a horizontal join between the upper and lower sections.
Condition report:
The cupboard shows visible signs of wear consistent with age and use. There are various scuffs, scratches, and marks to the wood finish, particularly around the base and edges. A small white rectangular lot tag is adhered to the lower right-hand corner.
