Lot 419: A Gilt-Heightened Cream Porcelain Part Dinner Service with Relief-Moulded Scroll Borders
A porcelain part dinner service comprising an assortment of items, each featuring a cream-coloured ground and relief-moulded scroll and wave decoration to the scalloped borders, accented with gilt-lined rims. The collection includes a large oval lidded tureen with twin gilt handles and a matching finial set upon an oval underplate, a gravy boat with a gilt scroll handle and matching underplate, and a large circular open serving bowl. The service further includes multiple plates in three distinct sizes, comprising soup plates, luncheon plates, and side plates. The undersides of the pieces bear a green circular backstamp and hand-painted red numerals, though the printed mark is not clearly legible. Serving pieces are finished with gilt accents to the handles and finials.
