Lot 557: A vintage single-strand pearl necklace with a decorative paste-set clasp presented in a fitted case
This single-strand pearl necklace is composed of a uniform row of cream-toned pearls which are individually knotted for security and drape. The necklace is secured by an oval-shaped silver-toned metal box clasp featuring an integrated tongue mechanism. The face of the clasp is decorated with a cluster of small circular faceted yellow stones likely paste or rhinestones. Indentations are visible on the side of the clasp but they are not clearly legible. The necklace is presented in a vintage-style cream-coloured case with a peach-toned velvet and silk lining.
Condition report:
The necklace appears to be in good overall condition. The stringing is firm and intact. The pearls display a consistent cream colour and a healthy luster. The paste stones in the clasp are all present. The case shows minor signs of age-related wear but remains functional.
