Lot 765: A Collection of ceramic demitasse coffee cups and matching saucers
A collection of ceramic demitasse coffee cups and matching saucers comprising two distinct decorative styles. The first group includes four cups and matching saucers, each finished in a different solid-colour lustre glaze including cobalt blue, turquoise, plum, and crimson red. These cups are cylindrical in form with flared rims, featuring gold-toned interiors and gold-toned loop handles. The saucers are finished in matching lustre glazes with gold-toned rims. The second group consists of six cups and matching saucers of a waisted form with vertical fluting to the lower half. These pieces are decorated with horizontal bands of a recurring chevron pattern in olive green, navy blue, and terracotta brown against a cream-coloured ground. The saucers feature matching decorative bands. No maker’s marks or backstamps are visible on any of the pieces. An auction tag for lot 765 is present.
