Lot 209: A Vintage Matchbox Models of Yesteryear 1938 Hispano-Suiza Model Car
A vintage Matchbox Models of Yesteryear 1938 Hispano-Suiza model car, produced in England by Lesney Products & Co. Ltd. This die-cast model features an emerald green body with a textured black plastic roof and matching green mudguards. The vehicle is detailed with gold-tone plastic components including the front grille, bumpers, twin horns, and spoked wheels fitted with black tyres. The chassis is finished in green and retains its free-rolling mechanism. The underside is embossed with the characters MATCHBOX, MODELS OF YESTERYEAR NO Y-17, 1938 HISPANO-SUIZA, MADE IN ENGLAND, LESNEY PRODUCTS & CO LTD, and a copyright date of 1973. The car is housed in its original cream and gold card window box, which bears the printed Matchbox logo and Y-17 designation. A white adhesive inventory label for HCP Auctions South West reading Lot 209 is affixed to the cellophane window.
