Lot 1127: A Pair of Late Victorian Oak Side Chairs in the Jacobean Fashion
A pair of late Victorian oak side chairs in the Jacobean fashion, featuring dark-stained joined frames. Each chair is designed with rectangular upholstered back panels and seats. The frames are supported by block-and-turned front legs and square-section rear legs, joined by block-and-turned H-stretchers and a matching high-set front stretcher. The upholstery consists of a heavy-duty fabric in a multi-coloured plaid pattern of red, gold, and green, with a tonal foliate damask pattern woven into the base. One chair features a white rectangular adhesive label on the upper back rail reading Lot 1127. No other maker marks or labels are visible.

Condition report:
Both chairs show significant wear to the dark-stained finish, especially on the front seat rails, edges, and leg turnings, exposing the natural timber beneath (photo 1). The frames exhibit various scuffs, dings, and surface scratches consistent with age and use in a workshop environment (photo 2). The upholstery is intact but would benefit from cleaning as surface dust is visible (photo 1). A black electrical plug is pictured on one seat but is not included with the chairs (photo 1).
