Lot 1154: A Vintage Pine Multi-Compartment Display Cabinet / Hutch
A vintage pine multi-compartment display cabinet / hutch, constructed from solid light-toned pine with a clear varnished or waxed finish. The unit is designed with a high degree of utility, featuring two glazed cupboard doors, each containing four rectangular panes of glass. It is further fitted with three small drawers and three larger panelled cupboard doors, all featuring simple turned wooden pull knobs. The central and side sections provide multiple open shelving compartments of varying dimensions. One side of the cabinet is finished with a decorative wavy scalloped trim. The back of the unit is constructed with vertically oriented pine planks and it is supported by short, turned bun feet. A blue adhesive auction sticker is present on the frame of one glazed door, reading 1154 in black type; no further maker’s marks, stamps, or manufacturer labels are visible on the exterior surfaces.
Large-scale furniture items; exact dimensions are not provided.
Condition report:
The cabinet is in good, functional second-hand condition. The pine surfaces exhibit general signs of domestic use, including light surface scratches, scuffs, and minor indentations (Photo 1). There is some unevenness in the wood tone, consistent with the natural ageing process of pine furniture. All glass panes appear intact without visible cracks (Photo 1). All visible wooden knobs are present and securely attached (Photo 4). An accumulation of dust and minor debris is visible in the corners of the shelving and compartments (Photo 2).
