Lot 1156: Mid-Century Teak Corner Bookcase / Shelving Unit
A mid-century teak corner bookcase / shelving unit of tall, angled construction, designed to fit flush into a room corner. The piece is finished in teak veneers and features an upper section with two fixed open shelves above a deeper central open shelf. The lower section comprises a single cupboard door with a distinctive recessed, oval-shaped wooden handle, opening to reveal internal storage space. The unit appears to be of single-piece construction. A blue paper lot sticker is affixed to the top edge, printed with the numbers 1156. The unfinished side edge bears the word BACK handwritten in black marker. No manufacturer labels, stamps, or medallions are visible to the exterior or interior.

Condition report:
The lower cupboard door and surrounding frame show significant wear, fading, and lightening to the teak finish (photo 2). A small, circular white mark, possibly paint or a surface scratch, is present on the middle shelf (photos 1 and 5). There is scuffing and minor loss of finish along the top outer edges and vertical corners (photo 6). White spotting or residue is visible on the outer side panel (photo 6). The unit displays general light surface scratches and minor nicks to the veneer consistent with age and domestic use.
