Lot 629: A Vintage Pale Green Hand-Blown Art Glass Basket Centrepiece
A vintage pale green hand-blown art glass basket centrepiece, crafted from clear glass with a subtle seafoam tint. The vessel features a dramatic free-form ruffled rim and a high, arching applied glass handle that joins the body at two points. The form tapers down to a circular pedestal base, which is detailed with moulded radial ribbing. The underside of the base shows a ground pontil mark, confirming its hand-blown construction. A white paper adhesive auction label is present on the body, reading ‘HCP Auctions South West’, ‘Lot 629’, and ‘www.hcpauctions.net’. There are no other visible maker’s marks, signatures, or etched details on the piece.
Condition report:
The basket is in good overall condition. The applied glass handle is securely attached at both terminal points. The ruffled rim and ribbed base show no visible chips, cracks, or significant losses (photo 1). There is minor surface dust and light shelf wear to the underside of the base consistent with age and domestic use (photo 2).
