Estimated price: £3 - £5

Buyer's Premium:

Two vintage earthenware teapots, comprising a Price Kensington floral example and a Chinese novelty figural teapot. The Price Kensington teapot is of squat, oval-bodied form, decorated with a dense transfer-printed chintz pattern of roses and flora in shades of pink, purple, and blue. The domed lid features a moulded floral finial. The base bears a printed black oval backstamp reading PRICE KENSINGTON POTTERIES MADE IN ENGLAND, with a small orange stamped letter F. The second item is a Chinese earthenware novelty teapot modelled as a seated elephant, where the trunk serves as the spout and the tail forms the handle. The lid finial is shaped as a smaller elephant. It is decorated with hand-painted floral sprays and a red and yellow geometric border around the lid aperture. The base features a red four-character Chinese stamp above the printed words MADE IN CHINA.

Condition report:

The Price Kensington teapot shows significant surface dirt and brown staining, particularly concentrated around the rim of the lid and the finial (photo 1). There is visible kiln grit and minor shelf wear to the unglazed foot rim (photo 3). The elephant teapot is in poor condition; it is heavily soiled with dust and grime (photo 2). The tip of the trunk spout is broken and missing, and there is a prominent vertical hairline crack running through the side of the elephant\'s head near the eye (photo 2).
