Lot 721: A Vintage Group of Hand-Painted and Stippled Porcelain Wares
A vintage group of hand-painted and stippled porcelain wares, comprising a decorative figurine and a set of small cups. The glazed porcelain figurine depicts a kneeling female figure in traditional East Asian costume, holding a fan and hand-painted with polychrome floral motifs in red, blue, and green. The figure is further detailed with a blue sash and headpiece, with gilded highlights applied to the garment edges and fan. Accompanying the figurine are three small porcelain cups, likely for tea or sake, featuring stippled textured exteriors in iron-red and dark green glazes. Each cup is finished with a plain white glazed interior and a gilded rim. The bases of all items are plain white ceramic and bear no visible maker’s marks, backstamps, or country-of-origin markings.
Condition report:
The porcelain figurine is in good overall condition with no visible chips or cracks, showing only minor rubbing to the gilded accents (photo 1). The three cups show minor wear to the gilded rims consistent with age and use. There is a noticeable brownish stain to the interior base of the green stippled cup (photo 1). No other structural defects or repairs were observed from the images provided.
