Lot 754: A Collection of Vintage British Royal Family Hardcover Books and Multimedia Memorabilia
A collection of vintage British Royal Family hardcover books and multimedia memorabilia, primarily focused on the life of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother and Lord Mountbatten. The group features a boxed multimedia set titled Her Majesty The Queen Mother In Public and In Private, which contains a biography by Anthony Holden and a British Movietone News video introduced by Sir John Mills CBE. The slipcase for this set is marked with a white adhesive lot sticker reading HCP Auctions South West Lot 849. Among the printed volumes are Royal Farmers by Ralph Whitlock, carrying an introduction by HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, and a large-format biographical study of Lord Mountbatten. The lot is completed by two dedicated works on the Queen Mother by Robert Lacey and Country Life, alongside a red-bordered volume titled The Queen. Condition report:
The collection is presented in good vintage condition, exhibiting light signs of shelf wear throughout. The dust jacket for Royal Farmers shows minor crinkling and light toning to the upper edge (photo 1). The printed slipcase for the Queen Mother multimedia set displays scuffing and minor crushing to the corners (photo 3). General light rubbing is visible to the spine ends and edges of the remaining dust jackets (photo 4). The internal pages appear clean and the bindings remain secure based on external inspection.
