Lot 755: A Collection of Six Pieces of Vintage Cut Lead Crystal Glassware
A collection of six pieces of vintage cut lead crystal glassware, comprising five spirit and ship’s decanters and a flared trumpet vase. The group features two ship’s style decanters: one with a wide circular base decorated with deep geometric starburst and fan cutting and a large faceted ball stopper, and another tapered decanter featuring etched three-masted sailing vessels and a flat disc stopper. This etched decanter bears a small white rectangular adhesive label with the handwritten numeral 31. Two heavy square-bodied spirit decanters are included, one featuring diamond and fan cutting with a textured pineapple stopper, and the other displaying deep cross-hatch diamond and wedge cutting with a faceted ball stopper. A smaller bulbous decanter with an overall diamond hobnail pattern and a flared trumpet vase with diamond and fan cutting complete the set. The lead crystal displays high clarity and prismatic refraction. No acid-etched signatures, manufacturer marks, or labels are legible on the vessels.
Condition report:
The glassware is in good condition overall with no visible chips or cracks to the rims or stoppers. The large ship\'s decanter exhibits significant internal brown staining at the base of the neck and upper shoulder (photo 1). The etched decanter has a temporary adhesive sticker on the main body (photo 1). Surface dust and light smudging are present across the collection.
