Lot 913: A Vintage One-Piece Ash and Ebony Snooker Cue and Case
A vintage one-piece ash and ebony snooker cue and associated protective tube case. The cue features a tapered ash wood shaft with prominent natural grain, machine-spliced into a dark hardwood butt, likely ebony or similar dense timber. A metal ferrule is present at the tip. The cue is paired with a black synthetic-covered cylindrical hard-shell carry case, equipped with a cap and a carrying strap attached via metal hardware. A small white rectangular adhesive lot tag is affixed to the shaft, printed with the digits 913. No manufacturer marks or brand names are visible on the cue or the case.
Condition report:
The cue appears straight when viewed from above (photo 1). The shaft shows minor surface dirt and natural graining throughout. The cue tip is worn flat and requires professional replacement, with significant blue chalk staining present on the ferrule and the uppermost portion of the shaft (photo 2). The carry case shows signs of heavy use and structural failure, with extensive repairs using clear and brown adhesive tape around the top aperture near the cap (photo 2). The black exterior of the case is marked with numerous scuffs, scratches, and white paint-like marks across its length (photo 1).
