Lot 163: A Second World War German Wehrmacht Steel Gas Mask Filter
A Second World War German Wehrmacht gas mask filter, likely a FE 37 model as used by the Heer. The filter is of cylindrical stamped steel construction with a field-grey painted finish. It features three horizontal reinforcing ribs around the body and a recessed top section. The top is configured with five circular air intake holes surrounding a central port. This central port is protected by a circular hinged metal cap. Internally, the filter contains a removable cylindrical metal sleeve or cup, which sits within the main canister body. The interior base of this removable component shows a textured, dark finish. No manufacturer three-letter codes or Waffenamt inspection stamps are visible on the base or body in the provided photographs.
